Vase Auction
We have brought back an exciting event to our Art in Bloom lineup this year - our 3rd annual Handmade Vase Auction! Almost 20 of our talented potters have created ceramic vases which we will be offering through an online auction. Here’s your chance to snag a one of a kind, beautiful handmade vessel AND support your local art center. Use the link below to see what we’ve got and begin your bidding! Or take advantage of the ‘buy it now’ option and make sure you get the one you want! Stop in some time to see the pieces in person too, because photos do not do them justice. The bidding will go through June 28th. We hope you get the vase you’re longing for!

Lynn FOrbes

Lynn’s passion for Ikebana began in the 1980s while teaching English to Japanese families in Atlanta, where she admired the floral arrangements in their homes. After retiring in 2006, she studied in the Ichiyo School of Ikebana under Terri Todd for ten years and trained with Executive Master Elaine Jo and Headmasters Akihiro and Naohiro Kasuya. Now a Certified Ichiyo Master and teacher, she has served as President, Vice President, and Membership Chair of the Asheville Ikebana International Chapter and remains on its board.

Lynn has exhibited at Art in Bloom at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts since 2012, leading its Ikebana designers for several years. She has also displayed her work at the NC Arboretum, North American Regional Conference, and various Asheville galleries and events. A frequent demonstrator, she shares her expertise with museums, art organizations, and community groups. She finds great joy in Art in Bloom, where she interprets art with natural materials from WNC’s gardens and mountainsides, celebrating creativity and supporting the arts.
