Qigong for a Healthy back

April 9 - April 30

Tuesdays 10:00 - 10:45 AM

$40 per student for series

$15 per session

Qigong is a simple, easy-to-learn, done by everyone at any fitness level, over 4,000-year-old moving meditation from ancient China. It incorporates breath, movement, and mindfulness to improve physical health and vitality, balance emotions, and focus the mind. Qigong slows the aging process by clearing stress, increasing strength, flexibility, and balance, and helping prevent and heal disease. Qigong promotes a supple spine and brings healing energy to all parts of the body.

Participants will perform simple, easy-to-follow movements to help release stress, strengthen the body, improve flexibility and balance, and center emotions and the mind. Participants will engage in movements to activate energy, and to release tension, followed by slow graceful mindful movements that foster a state of relaxed meditative “flow.”

About the Instructor

Kare by River 2 copy_edited.jpg

Kare Strong is a certified Holden Qigong instructor. Her two lifelong interests are nurturing health and creativity. She believes that feeling well in our bodies, hearts, and minds are the essential ingredient for a deep sense of well-being. She believes that human beings are by nature joyful and hopes that each of us may recover some of the joy that so often gets misplaced with the passing of childhood. She loves learning about nutrition, most especially the health benefits of a plant-based diet.   Kare has been a primary school teacher, a poet, and a singer-songwriter with 3 published albums of songs for the young at heart. Presently she is immersed in oil painting and the art of Qigong. Kare says she feels certain she will be both painting and practicing Qigong for the rest of her life.
