Description
We are thrilled to launch our 13th season with an exciting new chapter! Formerly known as the BMCA Dance Troupe, we are relaunching as the BMCA Dance Ensemble with a brand-new, flexible format. For the first time, the Ensemble will operate on an event-by-event basis. Dancers will come together to rehearse and learn choreography specifically for special events and community performances—offering an exciting opportunity to perform without a full-season commitment! The Ensemble was established to give students additional performance opportunities, deepen their training, connect with peers, and express themselves creatively in a supportive environment. How It Works: - The Commitment: 6 to 8 weeks of weekly, 1-hour rehearsals leading up to the scheduled event - The Cost: Paid per performance on a sliding scale ($45 - $95) + possible uniform/costume cost (will not exceed $20) Policies: - Dancers are required to be registered for and actively attend a BMCA Dance Technique class (Ballet 1-2, Tap 2 - 3, Jazz 1-2, Contemporary 1-2). - Dancers may be asked to leave the Ensemble if they are absent for 3 or more sessions of their technique class - Dancers are allowed 2 absences per performance session; dancers may be removed from choreography if they exceed this. - Dancers are expected to practice/review choreography outside of rehearsals (the director will provide notes, videos, and music to facilitate this) Dress Code: For Rehearsal: - Close-fitting athletic or dancewear that allows a full range of motion. - Dance shoes, or socks (we recommend practicing in the shoes you will be performing in) - Hair pulled securely back away from the face - no dangling jewelry, or unsecured accessories - Please bring a water bottle For Performance: -Black Leggings (no flares) -All-Black jazz shoes or dance sneakers (black socks if applicable) - Event-specific top (likely solids color or BMCA shirt) -Hair pulled neatly away from the face (specifics may change depending on performance) - Light, natural-colored stage makeup, unless otherwise specified

Policies
Flat-Fee Registration: Each workshop (one-time or multi-session) is billed at a fixed rate, payable at the time of registration. Secure Your Spot: Pay in full during sign-up to reserve your place—workshops do not hold provisional spots. Refund & Cancellation Policy: Cancel 14 days or more before the workshop start for a 100% refund minus a $10 administrative fee. Cancellations 7–13 days out are eligible for a 50% refund minus the same $10 fee. No refunds are available for cancellations less than 7 days before or after the workshop has begun Workshop Cancellation by BMCA: If BMCA cancels due to low enrollment, instructor illness, weather, or other reasons, registrants will receive either a full refund or a credit toward a future workshop. Transfers: If you’d like to transfer to another workshop, please notify us at least 7 days before the start date—approved transfers are subject to a $10 processing fee, with any price difference between workshops settled at the time of transfer.
