Guest of Honor
Gale Jackson was the Executive Director of the Black Mountain Center for the Arts from its opening in September of 2000 until her retirement in the spring of 2019. She spent her almost two-decade tenure implementing beloved programs, performances, events, and more. With the help of many committee members, volunteers, staff, and board, she saw Art in Bloom through its inception to the celebrated community event we know and love today.
Prior to her time at BMCA, Gale spent years as the Executive Director of Indiana’s Jasper Community Arts Commission. She moved to Black Mountain with her husband, Dennis Jackson, after a nation-wide search to fill the BMCA position. We hope you’ll help us in celebrating Gale and her many accomplishments at the arts center!
