  • Transaction & Billing Details: Credit card numbers, payment history, check details, and billing addresses (processed securely via PCI-compliant payment portals).

  • Communication Preferences: Consent choices for paper mailings, email updates, and SMS text messages.

  • Registration & Event Data: Class enrollment details, gallery transaction history, show attendance, and volunteer preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to serve you across our communication channels (SMS, Email, and Paper Mail) for legitimate organizational purposes:

  • Operational & Transactional Notices: Class schedules, appointment reminders, registration confirmations, artwork pickup receipts, event tickets, donation receipts, account updates, and order alerts.

  • Customer Support & Inquiry Response: Answering questions when you contact us first, sending schedule changes, and providing weather cancellation alerts.

  • Community Outreach & Marketing: Seasonal course catalogs, event flyers, gallery opening invitations, newsletters, and fundraising updates via email, postal mail, or SMS.

3. How We Share Your Information

Because we will never sell your information, sharing is limited strictly to secure operational necessity:

  • Service Providers: We may share personal data with vetted third-party vendors who help us operate—such as email platforms, postal print houses, and payment processors. These providers are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential and secure.

SMS, Email, and Postal Data Protections:
SMS consent is not shared with third parties. Mobile information and text messaging originator opt-in data will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances. Likewise, physical mailing addresses and email subscriber lists are kept strictly confidential and will never be sold or leased.

Part II: Multi-Channel Terms of Service (SMS, Email, & Paper Mail)

By opting into communications from Black Mountain Center for the Arts when registering for a class, buying event tickets, purchasing gallery artwork, contacting us first, or submitting a form, you agree to the following terms:

1. SMS Text Messaging Terms

  • Message Types & Scope: By providing your phone number when registering, purchasing, or reaching out, you consent to receive SMS messages regarding account notifications, class schedules, appointment reminders, order alerts, gallery updates, customer care, and event announcements.

  • Message Frequency: Messaging frequency varies based on your class enrollments, orders, and interactions with us.

  • Rates & Charges: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your wireless provider for details.

  • Opt-Out Instructions: You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to any message received. You will receive one final text confirming your removal.

2. Email Communication Terms

  • Content: Digital receipts, class updates, gallery announcements, and program news.

  • Opt-Out: Click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of, or reply to any promotional email. Transactional receipts for active registrations or artwork purchases will still be sent electronically.

3. Physical Paper Mail Terms

  • Content: Printed seasonal course catalogs, event invitations, annual reports, and donor communications.

  • Opt-Out / Updates: Contact info@blackmountainarts.org or call (828) 669-0930 to update your mailing address or remove yourself from physical mailings.
