  • Acro/Tumbling 1 || Ages 5 - 7

    This is the perfect class for young students who are interested in learning foundational acrobatic and tumbling skills in a fun and low-pressure environment. This beginner-level class focuses on building the strength and flexibility needed to safely perform basic acrobatic skills. Throughout the season, your student will develop their shoulder, back, core, and arm strength as well as improve their balance, coordination, and confidence. Each class consists of a warm-up/stretching, fun conditioning/movement activities, and acrobatic/tumbling skill progressions on the mat. Your student will learn progressions for skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and splits.   • Music Together®: Maracas Collection - AM

    Nurturing Young Hearts through Harmony and Play Turn your Monday afternoons into a musical celebration! The Maracas Collection invites babies, toddlers, and their grown-ups into a research-based environment where "play" is the primary teacher. Over eight weeks, you and your child will explore new rhythmic patterns and tonal melodies through a curated selection of songs and instrument play. Beyond the joy of singing and dancing, this class focuses on Primary Music Development, helping your child achieve basic music competence (singing in tune and keeping a steady beat). You’ll leave each session with practical "musical tools" to support your child’s cognitive, emotional, and social growth at home, all while building lasting bonds with other families in the Black Mountain community.

  • Kids in Motion 2 || Ages 5 - 6

    This fun-filled dance class is the perfect opportunity for your child to experience the joys of movement and develop a love for dance. This class focuses on improving foundational skills for a variety of dance styles, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and more. Dancers will have a blast with exciting themed classes, age-appropriate movement activities, and plenty of opportunities for connection and creativity! Throughout the season, your student will improve their coordination, strength, flexibility, memory, musicality, and gross motor skills. They will also grow their confidence and cooperation skills, setting them up for success in school and beyond. Although this class builds on concepts learned in Kids in Motion 1, no previous dance experience is necessary. (This class has an end-of-season recital option in May.)   • MoveAbility 1 (Ages 5 - 15)

    MoveAbility is a fun, inclusive dance class where kids and teens of all abilities can explore movement, music, and self-expression! Classes meet Mondays from 5:30–6:15 PM, at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. These pay-what-you-wish, 45-minute sessions include warm-ups, creative games, and chances to dance solo, with a partner, or in a group—no experience needed! We welcome all young movers, including those with disabilities or mobility aids, and anyone looking for a joyful, supportive space to move and connect. Come dance with us!   • Adult Beginner Tap (Drop-in)

    Join us every Tuesday at 6:00 PM for our Beginner Adult Tap class, a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals aged 16 and up. Whether you’re new to dance or returning to the art form, this class offers a supportive environment to explore the tap genre while focusing on movement, musicality, and fun. Experience a blend of Broadway and Rhythmic Tap that develops coordination, precision, and stage presence while learning footwork and character portrayal. Each class includes a warm-up, technique exercises, and excerpts of choreography to enhance confidence and mastery of the tap genre. With every step and shuffle, you will rediscover your rhythm and groove while building social connections and boosting your endorphins.   • Kids in Motion: Tap add-on || Ages 3 - 6

    This awesome 15-minute add-on class is the perfect addition for young dancers in Kids in Motion 1 and 2. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of tap, improving their rhythm, musicality, and confidence! Appropriately fitting tap shoes are required for this class. Students must also be registered in Kids in Motion 1 or 2 to take this add-on class. Thursdays 3:45 - 4:00 PM Ages 3 - 6 $20/month

  • Primary Ballet (Ages 4-6)

    In primary ballet, students will begin learning the FUNdamentals of dance. This class will focus on the foundations of ballet technique through exciting themed classes filled with age-appropriate dance exercises and memorable movement activities. In this class, students will improve their gross motor skills, coordination, flexibility, listening/cooperation, and understanding of basic French ballet terminology. This class has an end-of-season recital option in May. Saturdays 9:30 - 10:15 Ages 4 - 6 $55/Month

  • Rhythm Kids®: Jaguar Collection

    Unleash your child’s inner percussionist with the Jaguar Collection! This high-energy program is designed for the maturing music-maker, transitioning from basic play to intentional skill-building. Using the djembe drum as a centerpiece, students will master complex "Jaguar" rhythms inspired by global music traditions. Our "whole-child" curriculum scaffolds learning through movement games, ensemble drumming, and vocal improvisation. While they are busy drumming and dancing, your child is secretly strengthening executive function, mathematical pattern recognition, and collaborative leadership skills.     Try Something Sweet: Twirl like soft serve and shake like sprinkles in this sweet and silly dance class! Join us for a fun-filled trip to the ice cream shop. Join us this summer for an adorable 30-minute pop-up class with your Toddler. We will wiggle, giggle, jump and dance together, helping your little one improve their balance and rhythm. Their creativity and imagination will shine with each themed movement activity. This sweet class is the perfect way to bond with your Toddler and create magical memories. 9:00 - 9:30 AM Ages 1.5 - 3 with a caregiver $15

  • Custom Wedding Dances

    Imagine a custom wedding dance to the song and style of your choice. Make a lasting impression for your first dance as newlyweds. You are in good hands with over 25 years of teaching and choreography experience. These lessons are offered as packs of three 55-minute sessions for $200. Use all three lessons for you and your partner, or two for you and one for your friends and family so everybody looks good on the dance floor.

  • Ballet 2 (Ages 10 - 16)

    Ballet II is an intermediate/advanced class designed to expand each dancer’s previous knowledge of ballet technique through barre, center work, traveling combinations, and choreography. This class will also focus on teaching proper technique for more advanced ballet jumps, turns, and leaps. Dance conditioning, history, and anatomy will be incorporated into class throughout the year to expand each dancer's knowledge of the art form. This exciting, faster-paced ballet class will help students improve immensely in their strength, flexibility, stamina, musicality, performance, and grace. French terminology will be further explained and memorized for future success. This class has an end-of-season recital option in May. Saturdays 11:30 - 12:30 Ages 10 - 16 or younger by the Instructor's discretion. Best paired with Pre-Pointe $65/Month

    New Students Welcome, No Experience Required Continue your ballet journey this spring in Adult Ballet: Building Blocks—designed for those ready to build on their foundation or newcomers eager to explore dance in a welcoming, supportive environment. This class deepens your understanding of posture, port de bras, turnout, and alignment while introducing more dynamic combinations, musicality, and center work. You'll strengthen your technique, increase fluidity, and gain confidence as you move with greater intention and grace. Along the way, you'll continue to improve core strength, stability, balance, and bone health through this low-impact, mindful practice that nurtures body, mind, and brain. Whether you're returning from Part 1 or just beginning, bring your curiosity, energy, and willingness to grow. Step into spring with ballet and discover the poise, focus, and joy it brings to everyday life. Build on your foundation with flowing combinations, improved technique, and growing confidence—welcoming to continuing students and new beginners alike. This class offers three pricing tiers: a Community Rate for those experiencing financial hardship or on a fixed income, a Standard Rate for those who can comfortably cover costs, and a Supporter Rate for those who are financially stable and want to help a neighbor participate.
